Jankovic retires in fourth-round match at Wimbledon

06/28/2010 - Wimbledon, England (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic retired from her fourth-round match against Vera Zvonareva at Wimbledon due to a back injury.

The fourth seed took a spill early in the match and received treatment on her back trailing the Russian 6-1, 3-0. Jankovic retired three points later.

Zvonareva advanced to her first quarterfinal at the All England Club and will face the winner of the all-Belgian clash between Justine Henin and Kim Clijsters.

The 21st-seeded Zvonareva improved to 10-39 for her career against Top-5 ranked players.

Jankovic, meanwhile, has yet to make it out of the fourth round at Wimbledon.

Also on Monday, ninth seed Li Na of China posted a 6-3, 6-2 victory over No. 7 seed Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland to reach the quarterfinals for the second time.

She will play either defending champion Serena Williams or Maria Sharapova for a spot in the semis.

Radwanska had previously never lost to a player seeded outside the top six at Wimbledon.
