07/07/2010 - St. Andrews, Scotland (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Fresh off his second PGA Tour win of the season at the AT&T National, Justin Rose earned a spot in the 150th staging of the Open Championship at the Old Course at St. Andrews.

Rose, who burst on the scene at the 1998 British Open as an amateur where he tied for fourth after holing out from 60 yards on the final hole, finished tied for 13th last year in his eighth appearance.

By virtue of finishing first on the PGA Tour secondary money list, Rose, who moved up to 16th in the latest world rankings, gained entrance to golf's third major of the season. The money list is a cumulative ranking of six tournaments, starting with the Players Championship and the five PGA events leading up to and including last week's tournament.

Second in this category to Rose was Bubba Watson, who along with Rickie Fowler, Jeff Overton and Ryan Moore will make appearances at St. Andrews. Watson and Moore are making their second trips to the British Isles, while Fowler is competing for the first time. Overton will be playing in his third straight Open Championship.

Injuries have forced two top players to withdraw from the championship, Anthony Kim and David Toms.

Kim, currently ranked 11th in the world, has been sidelined since the beginning of May due to thumb surgery, while Toms is sidelined due to a shoulder injury.

Kim had played in the last two British Opens, tying for seventh in 2008 and missing the cut last year. Toms, the 2001 PGA Championship winner, has played in eight previous Opens, with his best finish, a tie for fourth at the 2000 championship at St. Andrews.

Replacing the duo in the field are Ricky Barnes and Davis Love III. Barnes is making his second British Open start, the last coming at the 2003 championship where he missed the cut. Love III will appear in his 24th consecutive Open. In four previous championships at St. Andrews, Love has missed the cut twice (1990 and 2005), tied for 98th (1995) and tied for 11th (2000).
